There comes a moment in life when the body speaks something the mind can no longer ignore. Mine asked me to slow down. To breathe. To reconnect. To choose peace over the illusion of security. For over 20 years, I pushed through stress, routine, pressure, expectations in a corporate job that paid well, but drained me. I kept thinking it was “normal,” that discomfort was the price of success. But the more I did retreats—the real kind, where nature, silence, and presence bring you back to yourself—the more I found my true rhythm. And the more I found myself, the louder the truth became. Yoga is that: the meeting point of body, mind, and spirit and once I experienced that union, the contrast between: my wholeness and the pressure of my former life, became impossible to ignore. My body kept saying: This isn’t your rhythm. This isn’t your life. This isn’t your purpose. Listening to myself changed everything. It led me out of corporate walls and Miami traffic back into nature, back into my own skin, and into embodying Arbor Domus, a dream that was slowly becoming real, a sanctuary born from self-care, presence, healing, and the courage to choose peace. Arbor Domus is holistic self-care, handcrafted with intention.
The Moment I Finally Listened
Presence is an act of self-love. It requires honesty, humility, and the willingness to feel what you’ve been avoiding. For me, presence began with small moments: noticing shallow breaths, tight shoulders, constant burnout, the emotional weight I carried, the stories that weren’t mine, and the stress I normalized. My body wasn’t just uncomfortable, it was telling me I was living out of alignment. Yoga and meditation deepens that awareness. Not just the movements, but the connection. The stillness. The union between the physical and the spiritual. And the truth was simple: This life was not bringing me peace, nor true fulfillment. Leaving my high-paying job wasn’t a spontaneous decision. It was a spiritual one. A return to myself. A willingness to trust
that my peace held more value than a paycheck. That my wellbeing mattered. That my body’s wisdom was more reliable than society’s definition of success.
The Call Back to Nature
When I walked away from security, I felt something inside me open— space, softness, clarity. My body wanted earth, I wanted gardening. I wanted air. I wanted the quiet that only nature offers. I realized how long I had lived disconnected from my senses, from natural rhythms, from the simplicity that sustains life. I connected deeply with herbs, with new skincare recipes, with magical plants. I deepened my knowledge, I knew this is the new life I wanted. That reconnection became a calling: to create, to craft, to work with my hands, to heal with botanicals, flowers, sunlight and to help others with my elixirs and intention. Arbor Domus was born from that calling. A sanctuary for nourishment, presence, natural skincare, mindfulness, and holistic living. A space where the body is listened to, not pushed. Where healing feels gentle and intuitive.

What Listening to Your Body Really Means
Your body speaks in many languages—fatigue, tension, cravings, intuition, resistance, sensitivity, emotional reactions, skin health, digestion, mood. Presence teaches you to hear those messages rather than override them. Than to hide the symptoms with a pill. Finding the root of these became my passion and I am glad, fear and all, I listened to myself.
Listening means:
- noticing what drains you and what energizes you
- understanding what your skin absorbs and why it matters
- becoming aware of what you eat, watch, hear, and engage with
- choosing natural instead of toxic, both physically and emotionally
- respecting your boundaries
- slowing down without guilt
- honoring what you need, even when others don’t understand
- loving yourself even when your mind is telling you otherwise
It means taking responsibility for your wellbeing instead of blaming hormones, circumstances, or people. It means recognizing that pain, stress, and exhaustion are not “normal.” It means understanding that your mental and physical health are decisions made daily. Listening to your body is the foundation of healing, and the most spiritual form of self-respect.
Letting Go of Stories That Don’t Belong to You
Many of us walk through life carrying stories, beliefs, and expectations that aren’t ours. Stories about productivity, strength, success, emotions, and worthiness. Stories that keep us limited, tired and disconnected from source and our purpose on Earth.
Presence gives you space to ask:
- Are these beliefs helping me grow?
- Are they supporting my dreams, or suffocating them?
- Are they aligned with my purpose?
Letting go of what doesn’t belong to you is liberation. It’s choosing authenticity over approval and choosing your own path even when it looks scary and uncertain. When I released the stories that kept me tied to a life I outgrew, I made room for something new—something sacred, authentic, and nourishing
The Union That Changes Everything
Union with your breath. Union with your intuition. Union with your body’s wisdom. Union with nature. Union with your purpose. That union it’s what continues to anchor me every day in this new chapter of presence, simplicity, and self-trust. Choosing peace over security was the most frightening and most freeing decision of my life. I can tell you, when you finally trust yourself, your entire life transforms. I don’t know what the future holds for me and I know I cannot control it, but I do know everything is perfectly unfolding in divine timing, and I know I’m living on purpose.
Stop living on default. Choose presence. Choose alignment. Choose yourself, consciously
